In 1995, brothers Abelson and Elisandro Carles worked in a family-owned paper industry. In the same year, they decided to open their own business and acquired a Hydropower Plant (CGH – Central Geradora Hidrelétrica). This was the beginning of a new business model for the two of them, and in the same CGH area the construction and implementation of a small aluminum smelting and laminating industry began, which produced about 20 tons per month of aluminum circles.
Over the years, the company kept growing and increasing its equipment, production and employees. The Carles brothers had always believed in the opportunities and in the growth of the aluminum products and so they kept on diversifying their product line.
In 2007, Alcast acquired modern equipment and built a new plant, which enabled the production of aluminum sheets and coils for several market segments. In 2016, Alcast started the construction of PCH JACARÉ with capacity for 5.6 MW, starting business operations in the middle of 2018.
Today, with an internal research and development department for the follow-up of new trends and with a lot of investment in technology, it started to count on a wide line of aluminum plated products for the manufacture of trunks, buses and wagons for highway transports, in addition to roofing tiles and several coils for civil construction, coils for the manufacture of electricity and natural aluminum circles and with antiskid coating for all the sector of domestic utilities.
In addition to the persistence, innovation was another essential point in this path toward success. As a result of constant investments, the current manufacturing capacity is of 24 thousand tons of aluminum per year, where it employs more than 600 employees.
